TLS' Vocational Rehablitation Team is funded through the NYS Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) and was developed to help people find and maintain competitive employment. The program offers assistance with job development, on-site training with a job coach, and assistance in dealing with issues that might arise on the job.
TLS' Assisted Competitive Employment (ACE) Team offers a flexible, alternative vocational service. Persons served do not have to be receiving the services of the NYS Vocational and Educatoinal Services for Individuals with Disabilties (VESID). In addition to job development and retention, the program offers the assistance of a Systems Integration Specialist. This person helps each individual in the program to resolve issues around benefits, adequate housing, day care, or transportation, to name a few. When these barriers are eliminated, the person is more likely to succeed at their employment objectives.
